We once again would like to express our heartfelt appreciations for the Sarpang Dzongkhag and Gelephu Thromde’s Disaster Incident Management teams particularly the heroism displayed by the search and rescue personnel consisting of Armed Forces, Desuups, excavator operators and others involved in the rescue mission.

The Prime Minister Office and the DDM made persistent efforts to deploy helicopter for rescuing the stranded people but due to bad weather conditions and incessant rainfall, the chopper couldn’t even fly out from Paro Airport . However, the heroic efforts of the first responders who took great risks was able to save the lives of 21 people stranded at 4 different locations. We remain ever more thankful and grateful to all those who were involved in this rescue operation.
