National Situational Update on COVID-19 (15-10-2020)

Three new cases detected over the last 24 hours.

Two are expatriate workers; both are men aged 34 and 36 years who entered Bhutan on 12th October 2020. The other is a 78-year-old Bhutanese man who entered Bhutan on 9th October 2020 from India. All of them are quarantined in Phuntsholing and will be moved to the isolation later today.

1 other person is being declared recovered.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old Bhutanese woman was reported positive in Guwahati, India on 24th September 2020. She has already been tested negative and declared recovered. This brings the total number of Bhutanese living abroad who tested COVID-19 positive to 31. So far 30 have already recovered.

DEFINITIONS:

a. Confirmed: number of people who have tested positive through COVID-19 tests.
b. Active: number of people who are currently in the isolation facilities because they are still COVID-19 positive.
c. *Recovered: number of people who have tested negative on COVID-19 test and declared as recovered. Those who test negative twice over a 24 hour period are kept under 14 days of observation in a quarantine facility.
