National Situational Update on COVID-19 (25-09-2020)

Two new cases detected over the last 24 hours.

A 26-year-old woman, a patient returning from treatment in Kolkata and another 30-year-old man who went to Kolkata as a patient attendant tested positive upon returning to Bhutan on 23 Sept 2020. They were quarantined in Thimphu.

Note: The above two cases NOT related to each other.

Meanwhile, 2 others are being declared recovered.

APPEAL: There are a number of festivals this week therefore we request everyone to please be cautious at all times and avoid mass gatherings and group activities.

Definitions:
a. Confirmed: number of people who have tested positive through COVID-19 tests.
b. Active: number of people who are currently in the isolation facilities because they are still COVID-19 positive.
c. *Recovered: number of people who have tested negative on COVID-19 test and declared as recovered. Those who test negative twice over a 24 hour period are kept under 14 days of observation in a quarantine facility.
