National Situational Update on COVID-19 (27-08-2020)

Highlights:

8 new COVID-19 cases were detected last night in addition to the 2 declared last night on BBS television. 1 is from Gelephu and 7 are from Phuntsholing. Therefore over the last 24 hours, 10 new cases were detected in total.

4 males: 40 year, 41 year, 37 year old and 22 year (Gelephu).

4 females: 22 year old, 9 year, 5 year and 1.5 year old.

This takes the total number of positive cases in Bhutan to 183 and active cases to 65.

One Bhutanese has recovered abroad.

Definitions:

a. Confirmed: number of people who have tested positive through COVID-19 tests.

b. Active: number of people who are currently in the isolation facilities because they are still COVID-19 positive.

c. *Recovered: number of people who have tested negative on COVID-19 test and declared as recovered. Those who test negative twice over a 24 hour period are kept under 14 days of observation in a quarantine facility.
