Department of Disaster Management Safe, Resilient and Happy Bhutan
The Department of Disaster Management conducted awareness program on Disaster Risk Reduction for the employees of the Bhutan National Bank Limited. The awareness program was attended by more than 150 employees including the CEO and the Chiefs of Divisions. During the awareness program the employees were made aware of safety measures on various hazards, oriented on the importance of conducting drills and also the disaster management and contingency plan for the BNB was discussed.
On the second day an earthquake evacuation drill was practiced by the participants. The participants felt that such regular drills for different hazards need to be practiced so that they would not panic during an actual emergency situation.
