Sensitization of DRM, orientation on ICS and conduct Tabletop simulation exercise (31/05/2022 to 03/06/2022-Zhemgang)

The Department of Disaster Management, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs in collaboration with the Dzongkhag Administration, Zhemgang began a four-day programme on sensitization of Disaster Risk Management (DRM), orientation on Incident Command System (ICS) and conduct Tabletop simulation exercise and update of Dzongkhag Disaster Management and Contingency Plan from 31st May 2022.

The opening programme of the training was graced by Offtg. Dasho Dzongdag and highlighted on the importance of disaster education and enhancing capacities at the grass root levels. Offtg. Dzongda further emphasized that the training is timely and will benefit in formulating disaster management and contingency planning at the gewog levels. The participants of the training programme are the officials from the Dzongkhag, newly elected local government leaders, representatives from the Royal Bhutan Police and De-Suung/BRCS.

The training is aimed at enhancing the preparedness and response capabilities of the local government functionaries during the times of disaster.
