National Situational Update on COVID-19 (27-09-2020)

Eight new cases detected over the last 24 hours.

6 women aged 22 to 40, who returned from the Middle East and quarantined at Thimphu tested positive. 2 IMTRAT officials, both men, tested positive in Phuntsholing during the routine screening of traveler from high risk to low risk areas.

Meanwhile, 6 others are being declared recovered.

APPEAL: There are a number of festivals this week therefore we request everyone to please be cautious at all times and avoid mass gatherings and group activities.

Definitions:
a. Confirmed: number of people who have tested positive through COVID-19 tests.
b. Active: number of people who are currently in the isolation facilities because they are still COVID-19 positive.
c. *Recovered: number of people who have tested negative on COVID-19 test and declared as recovered. Those who test negative twice over a 24 hour period are kept under 14 days of observation in a quarantine facility.
