Three day training workshop for the Disaster Management Focal officials of offices inside the Tashi Chodzong (27/07/2022)

The Department of Disaster Management as mandated by the Disaster Management Act 2013 has facilitated the development of Disaster Management and Contingency Plan (DMCP) at various levels.

Practical session

Under the funding support from the World Bank project titled  “Strengthening Risk Information for Disaster Resilience in  Bhutan ” the DDM facilitate a three day training workshop for the Disaster Management Focal officials of offices inside the Tashi Chodzong (Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs, GNHC, Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, Dratshang Lhentsho, Zhung Dratshang and Office of the Gyalpoi Zimpon).

During the three days training workshop the participants were trained on development of their organization/office Disaster Management and Contingency Plan through a participatory approach.

Usage of fire extinguisher

The training also included awareness program on conducting mock drills and a fire safety program (practical sessions on fire fighting techniques). The focal person will initiate the development of their organisation/office DMCP and will be presenting and discussing the plan at the end of October 2022.
