5th Basic Search and Rescue Training for the  Dzongkhag’s first responders (02-05-2022)

An initiatives towards Disaster Preparedness  for an efficient and effective response to any disaster situation

With the commemoration of the birth  anniversary of 3rd Druk Gyalpo on 2nd May 2022 , the 5th Search and Rescue(SAR) training  for Basic Search and Rescue Training has now begun. The SAR training is particularly  targeted for the first responders from southern Dzongkhags and 81 participants from various agencies of RBP , RBA and Desuups  will undergo a month-long training at Lobesa, Punakha .

The participants will be oriented and trained in the following areas of SAR like High angle rescue,  river water rescue, urban search and rescue, first aid and  psychological first aid , fire fighting, USAR simulation, road traffic accident.

274 potential first responders and SAR teams were earlier trained in Basic Search and Rescue to equip them with adequate knowledge and skill in responding to a particular disaster event .This is the  joint initiative of the Department of Disaster Management , Royal Bhutan Police and Desuung office , which was started in 2021.
